Privacy Policy

Effective 2 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data gangof8.dev (the “Site”) processes, why, and the rights you have. It is written to align with the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

This Site is operated by Digital Gods (the “operator”, “we”, “us”), the data controller responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us using the details in the Contact section at the foot of this page.

2. The data we process, and why

This Site is a single static page. There is no account, no login, no contact form and no advertising. Gang of 8 itself runs on your own machine; this Site is only its public description and receives nothing from the software.

Server logs. Our web server automatically records standard request information — your IP address, browser user-agent, the page or file requested, the date and time, and the referring page. This is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.

Analytics (only with your consent). If you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Site is used — for example pages viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP by Google, not stored by us), and device or browser type. Google acts as our processor and sets analytics cookies (such as _ga). If you choose “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s storage in your browser.

3. Legal basis

We process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in providing, securing, and improving the Site, balanced against your rights. Analytics is processed only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies and third-party content

By default this Site sets no cookies. If you accept analytics in our cookie banner, Google Analytics sets measurement cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*); if you decline, none are set. The Site runs no advertising. The address gangof8.digitalgods.ai redirects here and is covered by this same policy.

5. Data retention

Server logs are retained for a short operational period and then rotated and deleted, unless we must keep a specific record longer to investigate abuse or comply with a legal obligation.

6. International transfers

This Site is served directly from our own server. We do not transfer your personal data to third parties for our own purposes.

7. Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data; have it rectified; have it erased; restrict or object to its processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the EU/EEA, your local Data Protection Authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

8. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. This version is effective 2 September 2026.
